Job Title: Cultural Peer Recovery Coach
Reports to: Cultural Program Manager
Pay Range: $50,000 - $52,000 per year for Full-Time employment
Location: City and County of Denver
Position Summary: Advocates for Recovery Colorado is hiring a Full-Time Cultural Peer Recovery Coach to work and serve Denver County as an advocate for people of all cultures. The Cultural Peer Recovery Coach will help their participants navigate social service systems, model successful recovery, may accompany participants to appointments, facilitate peer recovery groups and participate in recovery planning for participants with cross-cultural sensitivity. This Cultural Peer Recovery Coach will help guide participants by assisting them in obtaining outside support to build long-term recovery and share their own personal experience while challenging them to discover their own preferred pathway of recovery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work directly with people from multicultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds in the city and county of Denver
Conduct intake via an initial interview with the participants to complete all initial paperwork, orient the participants to all services offered by AFRC
Conduct recovery coaching sessions and facilitate recovery support groups for peers
Identify important topics and lead group sessions where participants share their experiences about specific topics which may include recovery, consideration for cultural needs, criminal justice, criminal justice, health care, mental health care services, employment, social services, housing, and other topics as identified
Document all coaching sessions and other activities, as required
Participate in supervision meetings conducted by the AFRC management
Participate in other meetings as scheduled by AFRC management
Assist in organizing meetings, forums, and events for AFRC.
Always present a positive face and voice of recovery to the community
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bilingual English/Spanish
Read and write English and Spanish clearly and concisely
Must follow the Advocates for Recovery Colorado guidelines on ethical action and personnel policies adhering to cultural awareness proprieties
Lived experienced in recovery, currently participating in a recovery program, and currently participating in cultural practices/discipline or way of life
Willing to submit to toxicology screening when requested and a minimum of 2 years of continuous recovery
Must be able to demonstrate ability to network within the Denver area recovery community to include Latin X and people of color
Must understand and commit to the voluntary nature of Advocates for Recovery Colorado, support the Vision and Mission of the organization, work well with people, and be able to access community resources
Able to summarize the positive effects of his/her own recovery experience and be willing to share this experience in a way that would be helpful to others
Willingness to work weekend and evening hours as required
Bicultural skills, and experience with culturally inclusive populations within the Denver Metro area
Acceptable Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI) check
Competency in computer skills – proficiency in MS Office Suite
Preferred valid Colorado Driver’s License (DMV report required), acceptable driving record, and active full coverage auto insurance

Title: Administrative Assistant
Reports to: NE Regional Manager
Hours: 40 per week
Location: Sterling
Position Summary: The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support service to Advocates for Recovery Colorado (AFRC) by performing the following job duties. The Administrative Assistant will at all times conduct themselves in accordance with the Advocates for Recovery guidelines on ethical action and personnel policies.
Qualifications:
Minimum of one year of experience in office administrative assistance.
Competency in computer skills
Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills.
Familiarity with AFRC projects and services preferred.
Drug and alcohol free and willing to submit to toxicology screening; with 1 year of uninterrupted sobriety.
Clear or acceptable Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI) check
Valid Colorado Drivers License (DMV report required), acceptable driving recovery, and active auto insurance.
Speak, read, and write English clearly and concisely
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
Cross-cultural skills, and experience with culturally diverse populations.
Experienced in recovery and currently participating in a recovery program, or way of life.
Actively working the requirements of his/her specific recovery program, or way of life.
Willingness to work weekend and evening hours, as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides daily oversight of front office (answering phones, mail distribution, office equipment repair, supply orders, invoice tracking)
Maintains databases, assists staff with data entry issues, and performs data entry.
Assists with formatting and reviewing reports, presentations and other written materials produced by AFRC.
Assists with meeting scheduling, coordination, and taking minutes, as needed.
Oversight of AFR volunteer management system
Evaluation, data collection (GPRA when applicable)
Other duties as required
