Program Manager

Title: Program Manager

Reports to: Director of Operations

Location: AFRC Metro Office

Employment Type: Full-time, Salaried Position

Salary Range: $62,000 - $68,000 per year

Position Summary: The Program Manager at AFRC will oversee the development, implementation, and management of recovery support programs across AFRC’s centers. A critical component of this role is supervising program staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality recovery services that align with AFRC’s mission, policies, and grant requirements. The Program Manager will collaborate with staff and external partners to deliver high-quality recovery services while maintaining a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals in recovery.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing programs, ideally within a nonprofit or community-based organization.

    • Experience in supervising staff and coordinating teams is required.

    • Experience in the recovery field is highly preferred.

    • CPFS certified or able to be certified within 6 months.

  • Leadership: Proven experience in managing program logistics, supervising staff, conducting performance evaluations, and providing mentorship and support.

  • Recovery Experience: Lived experience in recovery/wellness with at least 2 years of continuous recovery.

  • Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple programs and staff simultaneously.

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage staff, volunteers, and external partners.

  • Community Engagement: Strong ability to network within the recovery community and access local resources.

  • Technology Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with data management and reporting systems.

  • Commitment: Dedication to AFRC’s mission and vision, and willingness to support its voluntary nature. Ability to work weekend and evening hours, as required with advance notice.  

  • Cultural Competency: Ability to work with diverse populations and exhibit cross-cultural sensitivity.

  • Background Check: Clear or acceptable Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI) check.

  • Driver’s License: Valid Colorado driver’s license, with a acceptable driving record and full coverage auto insurance.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish): Preferred but not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Program Oversight:

    • Manage the day-to-day operations of AFRC’s recovery programs, ensuring they meet organizational objectives and quality standards.

    • Ensure programs are implemented according to AFRC policies and procedures and comply with grant and funder requirements.

    • Monitor program performance, including tracking key metrics and outcomes, and prepare reports for the Director of Operations.

    • Regularly evaluate programs and make adjustments as necessary to improve effectiveness and participant engagement.

  • Staff Supervision:

    • Directly supervise program staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.

    • Conduct regular one-on-one and group supervision meetings with program staff to assess performance, set goals, and address any challenges.

    • Perform routine performance evaluations and support staff in their professional development.

    • Address any performance issues by implementing remediation plans in alignment with AFRC’s policies and procedures.

    • Ensure that staff have the tools and resources necessary to meet program expectations.

  • Volunteer Coordination:

    • Develop and implement a volunteer engagement strategy to enhance AFRC’s programs.

    • Provide oversight and support to volunteers, ensuring they are aligned with program goals and trained appropriately.

  • Data & Reporting:

    • Lead data collection efforts, including tracking program participation, outcomes, and participant feedback.

    • Assist in preparing reports for grants and other funding sources, ensuring deadlines are met.

    • Work with the Director of Operations to identify trends and areas for program improvement based on data analysis.

  • Collaboration & Partnerships:

    • Build relationships with local organizations, community partners, and stakeholders to enhance program delivery and support.

    • Serve as a representative of AFRC at community meetings and events, when needed.

    • Collaborate with other AFRC departments and staff to ensure that programs are integrated into the overall service strategy.

    • Engage in AFRC events to help locations and centers with community engagements and fundraising so they can become self-sustaining.  

  • Budget Management:

    • Assist in managing program budgets, ensuring that spending aligns with grant guidelines and that resources are allocated effectively.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay current on best practices in the field of recovery and program management.

    • Propose and implement new initiatives to enhance AFRC’s programs and services based on emerging trends and community needs.

  • Other Duties:

    • Support the Director of Operations and other leadership as needed.

    • Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure the success of AFRC’s programs and services.
