Southwest Regional Manager

Title: Regional Manager

Reports to: Director of Operations

Location: Durango/Montrose/Delta

Salary Range: $55,000 - $58,000 per year

Position Summary: The Regional Manager is responsible for the supervision of the Peer Coaches including assigning work and monitoring their quality of work. The Regional Manager will also perform the duties of Peer Recovery Coach. The Peer Recovery Coach is an advocate for people in recovery. The Peer Recovery Coach will help their peers navigate social service systems, model successful recovery, may accompany peers to appointments when appropriate, facilitate recovery groups and participate in recovery planning for peers. The Peer Recovery Coach will conduct themselves in accordance with the AFR Colorado guidelines on ethical action and personnel policies. The Peer Recovery Coach will help guide the peer in recovery and assist them in obtaining outside support by sharing their own personal experience and challenging them to discover their own process of recovery.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-year experience as Peer Recovery Coach

  • Experience with staff supervision preferred

  • Experienced in recovery and currently participating in a recovery program, or way of life.

  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to network in recovery community.

  • Must understand and commit to the voluntary nature of Advocates for Recovery Colorado, support the Vision and Mission of the organization, work well with people, and be able to access community resources.

  • Able to summarize the positive effects of his/her own recovery experience and be willing to share this experience in a way that would be helpful to others.

  • Lived experience in recovery, willing to submit to toxicology screening, when requested, and a minimum of 2 years of continuous recovery.

  • Willingness to work weekend and evening hours, as required with advance notice.

  • Cross-cultural skills, and experience with culturally diverse populations.

  • Clear or acceptable Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI) check.

  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License (DMV report required), acceptable driving record, and active full coverage auto insurance.

  • Competency in computer skills – proficiency in MS Office Suite

  • Speak, read, and write English clearly and concisely

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Regional Manager / Peer Coach Supervisor

  • Supervise the Peer Coaches including assigning work and monitoring the quality of work.

  • Conduct regular supervision meetings (individual / group) with Peer Coaches to ensure that services are provided consistent with AFRC policies & procedures.

  • Ensure that Peer Coaches has the resources necessary to meet the expectations of their positions.

  • Conduct routine performance evaluations of direct reports. Implement plan for remediation of performance issues, if needed. Comply with agency policies for performance documentation. Communicate to Directorof Programs and Executive Director any staff performance concerns.

Peer Recovery Coach

  • Conduct intake via an initial interview with the peer to complete all initial paperwork and orient the peer to services and supports offered by AFRC.

  • Conduct recovery coaching sessions and facilitate recovery support groups for peers.

  • Identify important topics and lead group sessions where peers share their experiences about specific topics which may include recovery, criminal justice, legal aid, health care, mental health care services, employment, social services, housing and other topics as identified.

  • Maintain all participant documentation of services, as required.

  • Participate in other meetings as scheduled by agency management

  • Assist in organizing meetings, forums, and events for AFRC, when appropriate.

  • Present a positive face and voice of recovery to the community at all times.

  • Other duties as assigned
