My name is Matthew Moreno and I have been in active and sustained recovery since 2016.  To me recovery means reclaiming control over my life and reclaiming my true identity, purpose, and health that was eroded over time. I’ve been blessed to reconnect with my family and loved ones and repair the damage my substance use has caused. Just like everyone else, my journey has been full of highs and lows and plenty of resets and fresh starts. I finally found my tribe in 2024 when I moved back to Colorado and got connected with AFRC. My purpose in recovery is to be of service to others and use my lived experience to help others find their own path through recovery by being a living example of what recovery can look like.
